Apple Stewed Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 1 apple cored and sliced
  • 2-3 pork loin chops ideally with a bit of fat in between.
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 2-3 large garlic cloves or 4-5 small garlic cloves

Pork Chop Marinade

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp brandy optional

Instructions

  • Use the back of the knife to tenderize the pork chop. You can also use a meat tenderizer
  • Marinate with salt pepper and a bit of oil, set aside for 10 minutes
  • Remove the core of the apple and cut into thinner slices. Set aside
  • Slice the onions and set aside
  • Peel and cut off the ends of the garlic, set aside.
  • Combine soy sauce, dark soy sauce and vinegar together.
  • In a pan, heat up with some oil on medium-high heat
  • Pan fry the pork chops until both sides are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each sides
  • Take the pork chops out and add in garlic and onion. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add in the apple, cook for about 1 minute, add the pork chops back in.
  • Add in the sauce with some brown sugar. Then add in brandy.
  • Cover and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Once the sauce has reduced down, the apples is soft, it;s ready. Serve with rice or your favourite vegetables.
