Japanese Curry Cubes

Pre-make these curry cubes for a quick dinner during the week. These cubes were inspired by Japanese pre-made curry cubes!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all purpose flour add a couple of tbsp more for a thicker consistency
  • cup curry powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • tbsp cayenne powder optional
  • 1 tsp ground coriander optional
  • 1 tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a pot on medium heat
  • Once the butter is melted, let it simmer for about 1-2 minutes
  • Add in flour and mix quickly until the flour is mixed in with the butter. If you like it thicker, add a few more tbsp of flour
  • Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, then add in curry powder, cayenne powder, garam masala, ground ginger and ground coriander.
  • Mix together thoroughly for the spices to be even distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Put the mixture into ice cube tray (ideally silicone tray) or a container lined with parchment paper to prevent staining. Freeze for 2+ hours.
